Service Description

Governing boards are encouraged, and in some areas of responsibility expected, to appoint governors/trustees to designated or link governance roles to ensure, on behalf of the board, that specific responsibilities are fulfilled, and to monitor how effectively they are working in practice. This course will NOT focus on the roles of specific designated governors, but will provide a generic overview of the roles of designated/link governors by exploring guidance on how these roles can be fulfilled effectively, specifically via undertaking focussed ‘monitoring’ visits and recording and reporting back to the board the outcomes of any such visits undertaken. Cost: this training is included at no extra cost for governors and trustees whose schools are subscribed to the RoSIS Core Offer or those purchasing the Governance Package. For non-subscribing settings, the cost is £75 per person per session.
