The benefits of learning beyond the classroom have been widely recognised. Regular contact with nature and outdoor experiences provides wide ranging opportunities to enhance curriculum learning and support the children’s physical, mental and emotional well-being. In partnership with Alex Wirth from Anston Greenlands Primary School, we were delighted to launch the “Rewilding Rotherham” last year which aims to make schools a better place for nature, by encouraging rewilding. There are three levels to the award: bronze; silver; and gold and this can be accessed by any Rotherham school, for free and with very little effort! We’re encouraging more schools to get involved this year. If you’re a school from outside of Rotherham, please do get involved, this is not exclusively Rewilding Rotherham – we’re happy to support and encourage Rewilding Nationally!! Termly networks will take place online on: • Tuesday, 15th October from 16:00 – 17:00 • Monday, 17th March from 16:00 – 17:00 • Tuesday, 10th June from 16:00 – 17:00 To maximise the positive impact that outdoor learning has upon children, RoSIS are delighted to be working in collaboration with the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (CLOtC) to bring together an exciting package of curriculum resources, support and CPD. Cost: Rewilding Networks & membership to CLOtC is included for those accessing the Core Offer to RoSIS. Rewilding Networks are free for all Rotherham schools, £25 for schools outside of the Borough, not including membership to CLOtC.
