Service Description

Delegates can choose to attend all sessions or select those relevant to the individual. Where multiple dates are offered, delegates can choose the most convenient date to attend. (A) Testing Arrangements & Administration. This online session provides an introduction to the Y6 statutory assessment process, including testing, teacher assessment and the pre-key stage standards. * 21st September online from 15:45 – 17:15. (B) Writing: reviewing the EXS ‘pupil can’ statements and how writing is assessed. It is recommended that delegates book onto the New to Y6 (C), (F) & (G) sessions. * 6th October at RPDC OR 8th October at Albion House from 13:30 – 15:45. (C) Writing: focus on WTS/EXS, and cohesion. Using the 2026 STA moderator training materials, this additional writing assessment session will further explore the key differences between WTS & EXS writing & to unpick the statement around cohesion. * 10th November at RPDC OR 12th November at Albion House from 13:30 – 15:45. (D) Writing: audience and purpose, & integrating dialogue. Using the 2024 STA moderator training materials, this additional writing assessment session will further explore the key differences in the statements relating to audience &purpose between WTS, EXS and GDS writing & unpick the statement around integrating dialogue. This session is also suitable for experienced Y6 teachers who missed the STA writing training held in March 2024. * 6th January at RPDC OR 8th January at Albion House from 13:30 – 15:45. (E) Maths. This online session, led by Kelly Pearce, Bentley High Street Academy, will provide support information and guidance to support preparation for the KS2 mathematics papers. * 18th January online from 15:45 – 17:15. (F) GDS Writing - reviewing the GDS ‘pupil can’ statements. Using STA materials, this session will provide information & guidance around the assessment & moderation of GDS writing at the end of KS2. It is recommended that delegates have already attended the New to Y6 (B) and (C) sessions. * 8th February at RPDC OR 10th February at Albion House from 13:30 - 15:45. (G) Writing: WTS and PKS. Using the 2026 STA moderator training materials, this additional writing assessment session will provide examples & information around the accurate assessment of register and formality at both EXS and GDS. * 22nd March at RPDC OR 24th March at Albion House from 13:30 - 15:45. Charges may apply.
