THIS PROGRAMME IS AIMED AT ECTs This three-session course is intended to give ECTs, and recently qualified teachers, a secure grounding in the principles and practice of subject leadership in primary schools, either as preparation for taking up this role, or as support for them once in role. The content of the course is applicable to leading core or foundation subjects. Sessions will run at Rockingham Professional Development Centre from 13:30 – 16:00 on the dates below: Thursday, 26th September 2024 Thursday, 16th January 2025 Thursday, 22nd May 2025 Attendance at all three sessions is essential as the content is carefully sequenced to support participants in developing, applying and reflecting on their practice across the year. The three sessions will broadly cover the following key strands of subject leadership, but there will be opportunities throughout for participants to share and address emerging ideas from their own contexts: Session 1 – Subject in the primary curriculum and the role of the subject leader. Session 2 – Leading subject monitoring and evaluation. Session 3 – Planning and managing change as a subject leader. Cost: • Unlimited places available for those subscribing to RoSIS in full • One place per school for those accessing the Core Offer to RoSIS, additional places charged at £95 per person • £190 per person for others.
