Paul has worked for the local authority for over 30 years, and has been involved with supporting the development of school governance for the past 20 years. He has been a school governor in three different schools covering both the primary and secondary phases, and has been the chair of governors in all three schools. Paul has developed and delivered a range of training courses and programmes on school governance to support governing boards to fulfil their important roles and responsibilities, and he is a strong advocate for the voluntary nature of school governance, believing that the diverse breadth of knowledge, skills and experience that school governors and academy trustees bring to their boards enables more effective and robust decision making.
