There are three sessions available in this programme and delegates can choose to attend either or both: Session 1 – Word Classes and Sentence Forms This session will consider the importance of avoiding misconceptions when teaching the basic word classes of noun, verb, adjective and adverb. This knowledge will then be used to explore clauses and conjunctions. This is of particular use to teachers new to the profession or those who have not undertaken previous grammar CPD. The training will be held at Rockingham Professional Development Centre on Monday, 24th November from 16:00 – 18:00 Session 2 – Sentences, Clauses & Conjunctions This session will build on previous knowledge and consider how sentences and clauses are built using a range of conjunctions. The training will be held at Rockingham Professional Development Centre on Thursday, 8th January from 16:00 – 18:00 Session 3 – Standard English & Tenses This session will support understanding of the importance of standard English and consider how this is tested at the end of KS2. Tenses taught at KS1 and 2 will be revised and practised. This is of particular use to teachers new to the profession or those who have not undertaken previous grammar CPD. The training will be held at Rockingham Professional Development Centre on Tuesday, 3rd February from 16:00 – 18:00. Cost: Schools and settings accessing the Core Offer to RoSIS have unlimited access, for others a delegate fee of £97 per person applies (£150 per person to attend both sessions) or purchase the full English CPD for Primary Schools package for £510.
