Service Description

Facilitated by talented, experienced and quality assured professionals, our subject leader sessions are an opportunity for schools to keep on top of the ever-changing educational landscape and hear about the latest information from the DfE, Ofsted and other national bodies as well as updates on current thinking, research and pedagogical developments relevant to a particular area. The sessions take place termly, and schools can choose the most convenient date to attend in either Rotherham (Rockingham Professional Development Centre) or Sheffield (Albion House). The focus for each session will be adapted to suit the needs and demands of schools and enable subject leaders to share successful practice, receive updates on national and local curriculum developments, and to further develop their leadership skills. Facilitated by Amy Parry-McDermott from RoSIS, these sessions will take place from 13:30 - 15:30 on: Autumn – Ofsted’s English subject review with a focus on vocabulary development, speaking and listening/oracy. • Tuesday, 1st October at Rockingham PDC, Rotherham. • Wednesday, 16th October at Albion House, Sheffield. Spring – Reading. • Tuesday, 14th January at Rockingham PDC, Rotherham. • Thursday, 30th January at Albion House, Sheffield. Summer – Writing. • Wednesday, 30th April at Rockingham PDC, Rotherham. • Monday, 19th May at Albion House, Sheffield. Cost: Schools and settings accessing the Core Offer to RoSIS & Learn Sheffield have unlimited access to the subject leader networks. Non-subscribing schools and settings can choose to purchase this package separately at £2,000 per school or individually at £500 per subject area, per school.
