Taking place on Thursday, 24th April, there are two sessions available: Session 1 from 9:00 – 12.30 for primary colleagues to launch our Addressing Educational Disadvantage in Rotherham Guidance with a focus on Understanding the Landscape of Disadvantage in Our Community and Challenging Assumptions and Removing Barriers. Session 2 from 13:15 - 15:30 for pupil premium leads, school and trust leaders from all phases with a focus on Attendance. Join us for a fantastic day exploring an Evidence Informed approach to Addressing Disadvantage. We are delighted to welcome our keynote speaker Marc Rowland to Rotherham. Marc is a national expert on disadvantaged provision who has advised the DfE on addressing educational disadvantage in schools. He has worked with over 700 individual schools to support them with their strategies to improve outcomes for disadvantaged pupils and has recently worked alongside professionals in Cornwall to launch their Transforming Attendance in Cornwall booklet. There will be an opportunity to share best practice from our Rotherham schools and from leaders around the country who have worked with Marc. We would recommend, where possible, that two representatives attend from each school as there will be many opportunities built into the day to discuss and reflect upon your own practice in school and develop an action plan for future developments. Colleagues attending the day will be asked to bring a copy of their Pupil Premium Strategy and a copy of Addressing Educational Disadvantage in Rotherham Guidance. Costs: included for those accessing the Core Offer to RoSIS or Rotherham settings, £95 per person for others.
