Service Description

This programme, facilitated by Professor Mick Waters, aims to address the priorities identified by those who attended an introductory day on 15th September. The sessions are intended for subject leaders in the subject disciplines of history, geography, art and science. The sessions will be ‘workshops’ where the subject leaders work on activities to practice the sorts of things they can do back in school. Numbers are limited to thirty for each session to allow for practical work. Those attending will be asked to bring some materials such as planning documents or children’s work which will be used during the sessions. The better teachers teach, the more children learn and the wider the repertoire of methods that the teacher can use, the more effective their teaching. This session will consider how to help teachers use the right methods for the right purpose. It will also consider a range of classroom organisation techniques which will improve productivity for children and build quality in their work and learning outcomes in a range of foundation subjects. Cost: The cost for this programme is included for schools subscribing in full to RoSIS or Learn Sheffield, for others a charge of £100 per session, per delegate applies
