SEND: The Role of the Governing Board

Service Description

All governing boards have legal duties in relation to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), which are explained in the SEND Code of Practice. This course will explain the requirements for schools to address the SEND Code of Practice, and will explore the following key areas: • The Graduated Response • Early Intervention • Person Centred Planning • Involvement of Specialist Services, and • Education, Health and Care Plans (ECHP) The course facilitators will the explore the role of the governing board in monitoring SEND provision in school, including the role of the SEND governor.
