EndedRotherham Civic Theatre

Service Description

South Yorkshire Primary Schools are invited to our event at the Rotherham Civic Theatre. Please join us for an afternoon packed full of fun with this year’s theme, ‘Choose Respect & promoting Kindness ’ as our focus. Schools will have the unique opportunity to take part in Anti-Bullying activities and witness the presentation of the South Yorkshire Anti-Bullying Awards, a testament to the hard work and dedication of students, educators, and communities in their stand against bullying. It's advisable for schools to register as soon as possible due to limited seating capacity. The event includes: - Kindness Challenge by the Anti-Bullying Company - Guest Speaker – Tair Rafiq - The South Yorkshire Anti-Bullying Award Ceremony - Staff champions will get the chance to network with other Award winners and share good practice. - And of course lots of positivity and fun! Housekeeping Information for schools: - Each school may bring up to 6 pupils (2 Adults) - It would be fabulous if they have made a 'Kindness cape' to wear at the event for our photo opportunity. (email Ann for details) - Pupils & Staff can bring packed lunches (if required) to eat before returning to school. - Remember all visitors should have relevant permissions regarding photographs, promotion of the event shared across RoSIS & Anti-Bullying Company Websites and Anti-Bullying Alliance Social Media. The running order for Friday 8th November is as follows: (subject to final tweaks) - 11.30 am Arrivals (School’s sign in). Pupils & Staff can bring packed lunches (if required) to eat. - 12.30 Start- Introductions by ABC - 13.00 Breakout – ABW Activity - Kindness Challenge by ABC - 13.30 South Yorkshire Anti-Bullying Award Ceremony - 14.00 Guest Speaker -Tair Rafiq – Local playwright, and author shares his story, poetry and a sneak peak reading from his brand new play -Lenny Maggot- available for schools in 2025 - 14.30- Good Practice Closing remarks (Photo opportunity with Rotherham Advertiser) - Kindness Cape Parade - Schools depart Event location : Rotherham Civic Theatre Catherine St, Rotherham S65 1EB Phone: 01709 823621
